HOMEWORK POLICY:
Homework serves several purposes:
• To let parents be aware of what children are learning in the
classroom
• To involve parents in the educational process
• To develop individual responsibility
• To encourage the habits that lead to a productive use of free time
• To verify that the learned concepts are understood
• To provide independent practice to reinforce the concepts taught so that the concepts taught can achieve a level of mastery
• To develop autonomy in problem solving
• To develop self-discipline
In ETK it is not customary to assign homework, however I can do so at my own discretion. If homework is assigned, it is of a concept taught in class. At no point should the parent do the homework, however, the parent may assist, for example hold the student's hand and do hand-over-hand for writing.
